Ambassador of Brazil in Bucharest on an Introduction Visit to the Romanian Patriarchate
On 21 December 2011, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel received His Excellency Mr. Raymondo Santos Mangno, the Ambassador of Brazil in Bucharest, at the Patriarchal Residence, on an introduction visit.
Mr. Ambassador Raymundo Santos Rocha Magno thanked for reception and mentioned the fact that during the few months since he began his diplomatic mission in Romania he noticed the religiosity of the Romanian people and their attachment to the Orthodox Church. In this sense, the Ambassador of Brazil was interested in better knowing the main activities of the Romanian Patriarchate.
His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel wished good luck to the new Ambassador of Brazil and underlined the importance of the relations of co-operation among the peoples of Latin origin, who share a common cultural spiritual legacy. The Patriarch of Romania has briefly presented the most important activities and pastoral, social, and educational programmes of the Romanian Patriarchate. In this context, His Beatitude mentioned the fact that in Romania the State recognizes the important role of the religious cults in society and co-operates with them in the initiation and implementation of some social educational programmes in the interest of the local communities.
