Pilgrims From Sweden And Clergy From Georgia On A Visit To The Romanian Patriarchate
The Press Office of the Romanian Patriarchate informs us:

On 3 November 2011, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel received in an audience a group of pilgrims, Orthodox hierarchs and priests, Coptic and Syrian from Sweden, led by His Grace Macarie, Romanian Orthodox Bishop of Northern Europe, and by His Grace Dositei, Serb Orthodox Bishop of Scandinavia and Great Britain. The group also included representatives of the Institute of Orthodox Studies of Stockholm.

The guests thanked for reception and conveyed the Patriarch of Romania their impressions after the pilgrimage to Romania when they could visit churches, monasteries, theological schools, social-philanthropic centres and media institutions of the Romanian Patriarchate. At the same time, the pilgrims of Sweden mentioned the fact that during their stay to Romania they succeeded in better knowing the dynamic reality of the religious life in the eparchies of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel appreciated the significance and importance of the tradition of the pilgrimages for developing and strengthening the brotherly relations between the sister Orthodox Churches. In this sense, the Patriarch of Romania underlined the fact that the pilgrimages to the holy places in the country or abroad organised every week by the Pilgrimage Departments of the Romanian Patriarchate contribute to the spiritual renewal of the parishes, monasteries and eparchies of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
