PRAYER FOR UNITY AND PRACTICAL CO-OPERATION AMONG THE CHRISTIAN CHURCHES
The Press Office of the Romanian Patriarchate informs us:
Every year, on the third week of January (18 – 25 January), the Christian Churches from all over the world organise evenings of prayer for Christian unity. The theme of the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity of 2012 is the text of the Holy Scriptures; “We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed” (1 Corinthians 15:51)
In Bucharest, the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (18 – 25 January 2012) will go off according to the following programme:
- Wednesday, 18 January 2012, 17.00 hours, at “Saint Joseph” Roman Catholic Cathedral, 19 General Berthelot St.;
- Thursday, 19 January 2012, 17.00 hours, at “Mother of God” Greek Catholic church, in 39 Sirenelor St.;
- Saturday, 21 January, 17.00 hours, at “Saints Michael and Gabriel the Archangels” Armenian church in 43 Carol I Avenue;
- Sunday, 22 January 2012, every church will celebrate prayers for Christian unity within the framework of the ordinary services;
- Monday, 23 January 2012, 17.00 hours, at the Evangelical church in 2 Lutheran St.;
- Tuesday, 24 January 2012, 17.00 hours, at the Anglican church in 3 Arthur Verona St.;
- Wednesday, 25 January, 16.00 hours, at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Dealul Mitropoliei.
