The priests of the Archdiocese of Bucharest who have places of worship being built received gifts on behalf of the Patriarch of Romania. The event took place on 10 February 2012, in Europa Christiana room of the Patriarchate Palace.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel congratulated and encouraged them in their activity, and offered them a set of clerical vestments made up of cassock, canon cassock and a fez, and for the families of the priests were given 500 ron showing that this is a little sign of encouragement during a great holy work.

In the speech delivered the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church spoke to the present priests about the importance of building places of worship, pointing out the fact that when a church is built, a new gate to heaven is opened.

“The construction of a church has no equivalent in this world with the construction of another type of building, because the church represents, in the course of time, the place where we look for and foretaste the eternal life. The church is the space where we meet God beyond space and time. It is the place where the past, present and future generations meet, and this is why we remember the living and the dead there. The church is the only place in the world where the forgiveness of sins is received. The church is the house of the Holy Trinity and the place where we find the true joy and happiness, namely the relationship of man with God, the Source of peace, happiness and eternal joy. When we build a church we build a house of God, of the Most Holy Trinity and open, at the same time, a new gate to heaven”, said His Beatitude as Trinitas Radio station informs us.

“During this period of economical crisis we began first to help the poor, laic, old and sick people. The most extensive programme of the Romanian Patriarchate in favour of the poor, generally, aged persons, is called Dinner of Joy and it included the entire Romanian Patriarchate, having been very efficient in several parishes, monasteries and certainly at the canteens of the Eparchial Centre of the Archdiocese of Bucharest. We learned, later on, that there are not only poor laic, but also poor priests. This is why we thought we should help first the servant priests of the poor parishes from the poor areas. We began our aiding programme with the aids granted to them and we shall continue every year to help the priests from the poorest parishes”, also said the Patriarch of Romania, as Trinitas Television informs us.
