'Our Savior Jesus Christ wants to show that man is created according to the image of God, the One Who is good in Himself, and only goodness is profoundly human, and not evilness, even though people are often bad,' His Beatitude said. He also said that 'goodness expressed through charity, the humble and giving goodness, is the normal and proper state of the Christian life.'
At the end of his address, His Beatitude Daniel said that in this year, the Memorial Year of St Basil the Great, Archbishop of Caesarea Cappadocia († 379) and of the other Cappadocian Saints, on the occasion of the feast day of the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest, the feast of Righteous Dimitrie the New, the right hand of St. Basil the Great will be brought from Athens by a delegation of the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Greece. Also, a part of the relics of Gregory of Nazianzus, the friend of St. Basile the Great, will be brought to the Patriarchal Cathedral. These holy relics are a gift of the Archdiocese of Vienna.
