Pastoral-Missionary Conference Titled 'The Message of Faith Shared through Modern Means of Communication' at the Patriarchate's Palace
Pastoral-Missionary Conference Titled
Today, November 11, 2009, the pastoral-missionary conference titled 'The Message of Faith Shared through Modern Means of Communication' took place at the Patriarchate's Palace in Bucharest. The meeting was presided by His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, who, in the opening of the conference, has underlined the actuality and importance of the theme proposed for debate. His Beatitude said that parishes and monasteries are supporting the missionary work of the Church through its modern communication means: The Light daily, TRINITAS Radio and TRINITAS TV. TRINITAS TV has started recently to broadcast non-stop for Orthodox Romanians in the United States, Canada and Australia, who want to watch the Patriarchate's Palace during their daytime.

The reunion was attended by more than 600 priests from the three deaneries in Romania's capital and the two deaneries in Ilfov county. Three priests presented papers. At the end of the meeting, His Beatitude Daniel has reminded that the Christian missionary who works in mass media should not transmit personal opinions, but first of all the faith of the Church. 'We must not transmit personal opinions but the communion of thought, with the Holy Apostles and the Holy Fathers,' His Beatitude said.

The conference will also continue tomorrow, November 12, in Ploiesti, reuniting the priests from the Ploiesti, Campina, Valenii de Munte and Urlati deaneries.
