In accordance with the decision of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church no. 6745 / October 29, 2008, and following consultations with the persons in charge with local dialogue of the Christian Churches in Bucharest, the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity of 18-25 January, 2010 will unfold as follows:
- Monday, January 18, at the Roman Catholic Cathedral 'St. Joseph' (19 General Berthelot St.), 5 p.m.
- Tuesday, January 19, at the Armenian Church (43 Carol I Street), 5 p.m.
- Wednesday, January 20, at the Lutheran Church (2 Lutherana St), 5 p.m.
- Thursday, January 21, at the Reformed Church (Calvineum Church, 13bis Lutherana St.), 5 p.m.
- Friday, January 22, at the Hungarian Lutheranian Church (10 Badea Cartan St), 5 p.m.
- Saturday, January 23, at the Greek Catholic Church (39 Sirenelor St.), 5 p.m.
- Sunday, January 24, each Church will pray for Christian unity during normal Sunday services
- Monday, January 25, at the Patriarchal Cathedral (Metropolitanate's Hill), at 4 p.m.
According to the decision of the Holy Synod mentioned above, at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest and in other Orthodox Churches in Romania and abroad, the representatives of the other Christian denominations will attend the Orthodox service (Vespers), without liturgical involvement. After the Orthodox service, official representatives of the other Churches will be able to give witness to the peaceful cohabitation and local and regional ecumenical cooperation today.
As far as the presence at the ecumenical prayers organized by the other Christian Churches, Orthodox clergy will be able to attend these prayers, without liturgical involvement, and, after the prayer, they will be able to address those present on the same theme.
