Romanian-Spanish Colloquium: 'Byzantine Tradition and Heritage'
With the blessing of His Grace, Right Rev. Timotei Lauran, Bishop of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate for Spain and Portugal, and under the high patronage of Her Excellency Maria Ligor, Romanian ambassador in the Spanish Kingdom, the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in Madrid and the Cisneros International Center for Historical Studies of the University of Alcalá, are organizing tomorrow, June 20 2008, in the Actos Hall of the University of Alcala de Henares ( Madrid), the interdisciplinary colloquium 'Byzantine Tradition and Heritage' as well as as a book presentation for 'Portrait of a Byzantine Woman' (Sinergii Publishing House, Bucharest, 2008), with the participation of the author, a theologian with the University of Bucharest, in a meeting moderated by Horia Barna, the director of ICR Madrid.
The event will be attended by Rev. Prof. PhD Emanoil Babus, professor of Byzantine Studies at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology 'Patriarch Justinian' of Bucharest; Rev. Prof. PhD Teofil Moldovan, parish priest at the ”Santísima Virgen María” Romanian Orthodox church in Madrid, Prof. PhD Maria Dolores Cabañas González, the director of the Cisneros International Center for Historical Studies of the University of Alcalá; and deacon José Luis Gómez Toledo from the San Alejandro parish of Madrid.
