Today, September 30, 2009, the Romanian Orthodox Church celebrates two years since the enthronement of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel. At 12 p.m., at the Patriarchal Cathedral in Bucharest, following the celebration of the Holy Liturgy, a Te Deum service took place. The event was attended by 20 bishops, members of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, representatives of state and local authorities, Romanian personalities, members of the Standing Meeting of the National Church Council and of the Standing Meeting of the Bucharest Archdiocese, as well as other invitees, clerics and laymen.

In his sermon, His Beatitude Daniel evoked the personality of St. Gregory the Enlightener, expressing gratitude for the light which our Savior Jesus Christ has bestowed upon the souls of the faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Church. Also, the Patriarch of Romania has underlined the necessity to be grateful for the gifts received both from God and from our fellow men. Man, as an eucharistic being, is thanking God for His benefactions, His Beatitude said.

Also, the Romanian Patriarch thanked all those who support the sanctifying and redeeming activity of the Church.
