At the Patriarchal Cathedral, today, February 9, 2010, 9:30 a.m., a Te Deum service was celebrated in the presence of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, of the other members of the Holy Synod and those of the National Church Assembly. The thanksgiving service was celebrated by Right Rev. Emilian, Auxiliary Bishop of the Ramnic Archdiocese, surrounded by many priests and deacons, and preceded the yearly working session of the National Church Assembly of the Romanian Orthodox Church, which unfolds at the Patriarchate's Palace in Bucharest today, starting at 10 a.m., under the presidency of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.
The central deliberative body of the Romanian Orthodox Church for administrative, social, cultural, economic and patrimonial problems, made up by the members of the Holy Synod and tree representatives (a cleric and two laymen) from each diocese, it will examine the Yearly General Report of the National Church Council concerning the activity of the Romanian Orthodox Church in 2009 and will take the necessary measures for the good development of Church life in the current year. |
