Tuesday, 14 February 2012, 10.00 o’clock, the annual working session of the Church National Council of the Romanian Orthodox Church will be held in the Synodal Hall of the Patriarchal Residence, under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.
The Church National Council is the central executive body of the Holy Synod of the Church National Assembly, made up of 12 members of the Church National Assembly, one clergy and one laic representing each Metropolitanate in the country, assigned for 4 years and for two terms at last.
The members of the Church National Council will analyse the activity of the Romanian Orthodox Church in 2011 focused on the pastoral-missionary and social-philanthropic work, monastic life, theological education and teaching religion in the public schools, printing editorial activity and mass-media, church cultural patrimony, construction of new places of worship, relations with other religious cults, care for the Romanian Orthodox communities abroad, inter-church and inter-religious relations etc.
Wednesday, 15 February 2012, 10.00 o’clock, the annual working session of the Church National Assembly of the Romanian Orthodox Church will take place in Patriarch Teoctist Aula Magna of the Patriarchate Palace, under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.
This Assembly is the central deliberative body of the Romanian Orthodox Church for the administrative, social, cultural, economical and patrimonial issues, made up of the members of the Holy Synod and of three representatives (one clergy and two laics) for every eparchy. The Church National Assembly will examine the annual general Report of the Church National Council on the activity of the Romanian Orthodox Church in 2011 and will take decisions on the good development of the church life of the Romanian Orthodox Church in 2012.
