The Annual Meeting of the Eparchial Assembly of the Archdiocese of Bucharest
The Press Office of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, informs us:

Saturday, 4 February 2012, the annual working session of the Archdiocese of Bucharest will be held in the Synodal Room of the Patriarchal Residence, under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

The activity of the Archdiocese of Bucharest in 2011 will be analyzed and estimated both in the plenary meeting and in commissions: Church–administrative Commission, Cultural Educational Commission, Economic, Budgetary and Patrimonial Commission, Social-Philanthropic Commission, Organisational Juridical and Validation Commission.

Reports will be delivered on the pastoral-missionary eparchial, organisational administrative, social-philanthropic, monastic, printing-editorial activity, as well as on the theological religious education, cultural religious patrimony, building of new places of worship etc. To end with the meeting, the members of the eparchial Assembly will approve the commissions’ reports on the activity of the Archdiocese of Bucharest in 2011 and establish the priorities for 2012.

According to articles 90 and 91 of the Statutes for the Organisation and Functioning of the Romanian Orthodox Church, the Eparchial Assembly is the deliberative body for the following church fields of activity: administrative, cultural, social-philanthropic, economical and patrimonial. It is made up of 30 representatives both of the clergy and of the laic faithful (10 priests and 20 laymen) elected for 4 years.
