Saturday, 15 May 2010, after the Divine Liturgy celebrated in the Patriarchal Cathedral (9.00 o’clock a.m.) and the Te Deum service, the session for setting up the Eparchial Assembly of the Archdiocese of Bucharest was held in the Holy Synod room of the Patriarchal Residence, under the chairmanship of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.
After presenting and validating the mandates of the representatives elected, the Eparchial Assembly Body was set up (Rev. Prof. Dr. Vasile Rădică – General Secretary, Mr. Economist Viorel Roman and Mr. Emanuel Savin) as well as the members of the five working commissions: The Church Administrative Commission (Rev. Lecturer Dr. Mihai Săsăujan – President; Rev. Valerian Iliescu; Mr. Neculai Onţanu – Reporter; Mr. Gheorghe Silviu Constantin; Mr. Costel Florentin Pandele; Mr. Emanuel Savin); Cultural Educational Commission (Rev. Prof. Dr. Vasile Răducă – President; Rev. Ştefan Marian. Mr. Acad. Dr. Emilian Popescu – Reporter; Mr. Florin Necula; Mr. Gabriel Chivăran; Mr. Marian Măchiţescu); Economical Budgetary Patrimonial Commission (Rev. Alexandru Niculescu – President; Rev. Further on, following the proposal of His Beatitude, three representatives of the Eparchial Assembly in the Church National Assembly were elected by nominal vote, a clergy and two lay people, (Rev. Prof. Dr. Vasile Răducă. Mr. Acad. Prof. Dr. Emilian Popescu and Mr. Economist Viorel Roman), the nine members of the Eparchial Council, three clergy and six lay (Rev. Lecturer Dr. Mihai Săsăujan, Rev. Ştefan Marian, Rev. Mihai Stavără, Mr. Neculai Onţanu, Mr. Costel Florentin Pandele, Mr. Gheorghe Silviu Constantin, Mr. Tudor Gabriel Bohâlţeanu. Mr. Cristache Rădulescu and Mr. Ştefan Dumitraşcu) and the three clergy members and two substitutes in the Eparchial Consistory (members: Rev. Laurenţiu Lazăr, Rev. Cristian Galeriu, Rev. Toader Dan, Substitutes: Rev. Cristian Onea and Rev. Paul Lepădatu), as well as the members of the Metropolitan Consistory (Rev. Ionel Chinţoiu, Rev. Ioan Mărăcineanu and Rev. Radu Gheorghe).
To end with the session for setting up the Eparchial Assembly of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, His Beatitude underlined the importance of the activity of the members of the Eparchial Assembly for the pastoral-missionary, financial-town and social-philanthropic activity of the Archdiocese of Bucharest, especially for recovering the real estates of the parishes and monasteries, for building churches and social-pastoral houses, for improving the situation of the parochial cemeteries, as well as for improving the social philanthropic activity by supporting the poor rural and urban communities and the Christian family.
