Message of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, on the occasion of the extension of Project “Choose School!” at national level
The Project entitled “Choose School!” is a successful initiative of the Romanian Patriarchate in partnership with the World Vision Romania Organization unfolded under the aegis of the Programme entitled “Christ Shared with the Children” enjoying European financing. Through this project lasting for almost one year the Church intervenes in the education of the children risking school abandonment, in order to integrate them in the community based on the culture of love and communion.

Through the activities organized so far within the Project entitled “Choose School!” – classes of catechesis in parishes with the participation of over 4,500 children, seminars of formation for about 500 priests, creation camps with over 1,800 children involved – the Church endeavoured to make up for the lack of parental love and the family atmosphere, to discover the gifted children and encourage them to cultivate their talent.

The present moment represents a new beginning through the extension of the project at national level, so that all eparchies of the country may have the possibility to involve in the catechetic activity of the Church a good number of children risking school abandonment.

We wish you every success in the activity you unfold and we pray Christ, our Lord, to bestow His rich gifts both over all those involved in this project and over all the children participating in its implementation.
