On 25 October 2011, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church received His Highness Prince El-Hassan bin Talaal of Jordan at the Patriarchal Palace. His Eminence Metropolitan Nifon, Archbishop of Targoviste and Patriarchal Exarch and Rev. Archimandrite Qais Saadiq, priest of the Arabian speaking Orthodox community of Romania were also present.
His Highness thanked for reception and underlined the importance of the good understanding among different cultures and religious faiths for preventing conflicts and intolerance. In this sense, Prince El-Hassan bin Talaal emphasised the importance of education in the spirit of the commune values shared by the three monotheist religions: Christian, Islam and Judaic.
His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel congratulated His Highness Prince Rl-Hassan bin Talaal for the title of Doctor Honoris Causa received today, 25 October 2011, on behalf of the University of Bucharest for his special academic contribution to the analysis of today’s international economical and political situation. During the meeting, the Patriarch of Romania underlined the importance of the responsible cooperation and solidarity among peoples, cultures and religions in the context of the present economical crisis which affects the life of many peoples.
