The Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church delivered an allocution in the Parliamentary Assembly within the working session with the theme The Inter-religious Dimension of the Inter-cultural Dialogue.
Rev. Sorin Selaru, Patriarchal Counsellor and Director of the Representation of the Romanian Patriarchate at the European Institutions present at the events offered some more information.
“At 10.00 o’clock (11.00 o’clock Romania’s time), His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel participated in the debate within the plenary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe on the report entitled the Religious Dimension of the Inter-Cultural Dialogue. This report was worked out by the Culture Science and Education Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. The report also emphasises the importance of the religious dimension of the inter-cultural dialogue for promoting the values that constitutes, in fact, the common basis of the democratic society. Then, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel addressed the plenary of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe developing in his intervention the need to deepen the dialogue, one’s own spirituality in freedom, the permanent education for developing a culture of cohabitation”, said Rev. Sorin Selaru.
