Between June 19-21 2008, Rhodes Island in Greece hosts the meeting of representatives from all Orthodox Churches. The purpose of the inter-Orthodox forum is to develop a draft joint statement of all the heads of Orthodox Churches, which will be published after their meeting, due to take place October 9-12 2008. The document will include the message of the Primates to the world.

The meeting will also address other themes such as: the irrational exploitation of the environment, the respect for life, the dangers of globalization, the relativization of faith, proselytism and marriage. At the same time, an appeal towards all Orthodox Churches will be issued which asks for more openness and transparency, as well as a closer cooperation and solidarity in facing common problems.

The Romanian Orthodox Church is represented by a delegation led by His Grace Right Rev. Ciprian of Campina, patriarchal vicar.
