On February 8, 2010, at 10 a.m., in the Synodal Hall of the Patriarchal Residence, under the presidency of His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, the annual meeting of the National Church Council of the Romanian Orthodox Church took place. The central executive body of the Holy Synod and of the National Church Assembly, the National Church Council analyzed the entire internal and external activity of the Church in the year 2009 under the following aspects: pastoral-missionary, social-philanthropic, monastic, theological education, religion teaching in public schools, cultural patrimony, organizational, administrative, economical, relations with other faiths, care for the Romanian Orthodox communities abroad, inter-Church and inter-religion relations, etc.

His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel presented, in the opening of the meeting, a synthesis of the activity of the Romanian Patriarchate in 2009, in an address titled 'Multiple Activities with Little Money'. In the ending, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel thanked all those who understood the mission of the Church in today's world and who are helping it according to each one's possibilities.
