PRESS RELEASE: His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel Will Carry Out a Canonical Visit in the Diocese of Ramnic
Between November 13-15, 2009, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, will carry out a canonical visit in the Diocese of Ramnic. Among the main moments of the visit are:

Saturday, November 14, 2009, at 9:30 a.m., His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel, surrounded by hierarchs, priests and deacons, will celebrate the Holy Liturgy in the Episcopal Cathedral with the feast of Holy Hierarch Nicolas in the City of Ramnicu Valcea. During the Holy Liturgy, the ordination as bishop of Rev. Archimandrite Emilian Nica, will take place. Rev. Emilian Nica was elected auxiliary bishop of the Ramnic Diocese by the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church on October 29, 2009.

The Holy Liturgy will be followed, at 11:30 a.m., by the ceremony of elevation in rank of the Ramnic Diocese to the rank of archdiocese, in accordance with the decision of the Holy Synod taken on June 18, 2009. Subsequently, at 12:30 p.m., the Romanian Patriarch will bless and inaugurate the 'Holy Hierarch Antim of Iviria' Religious-Cultural Center located in the Diocesan Center. In the afternoon, His Beatitude will visit the Dintr-un Lemn (Of One Wood) Monastery, where he will bless the new church with the feast of the Birth of the Theotokos, currently under construction.

Sunday, November 15, 2009, starting at 9:45 a.m., His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel will attend the Holy Liturgy at the church of the Hurezi Monastery, and in the afternoon he will visit the Arnota Monastery, where he will bless the new chapel with the feast of St. Elijah the Prophet, as well as the Bistrita Monastery. During the evening of November 15, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniell will return to Bucharest.
