On this occasion, the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church blessed the faithful and wished them many blessed years of life: “Today is the beginning of the church year, as already seen in the prayers said here, in front of the holy altar. On the same day of 1 September we also celebrate Saint Pious Dionisios Exiguus, humble and small, as he called himself. In September we celebrate the fruits of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in our life, as well as the beginning of a spiritual climbing through the holy feasts, holy prayers of the Church, as nicely said His Eminence Laurentiu, Metropolitan of Transylvania, for which we thank him. We wish you all, the hierarchs, clergy and faithful, many blessed years of life! We pray God that every year should be a blessed year for us, even though we pass through difficulties, as these ones should bring us closer to Him, and renew us spiritually for the glory of God and our salvation. May you live many blessed years!”, informs Trinitas Radio station.
After the celebration of the Te Deum, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church read the lecture by His Eminence Laurentiu, Metropolitan of Transylvania, prepared on the occasion of the beginning of the new church year, entitled: “The Church Year – the Time of Salvation”. His Eminence Laurentiu was not present at the event because of some events that required his presence in Sibiu. “We asked His Eminence Metropolitan Laurentiu to prepare a short speech for today. He prepared it, but we read it because urgent issues kept him in Sibiu. We asked him to make a presentation of the day because he is also Liturgics professor at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of “Andrei Saguna” of Sibiu, also said His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel.
