Following the images broadcast yesterday night, June 25, by the Pro TV station concerning the reproachable deeds by the so-called 'Orthodox priest Stefan Popa' in Rome, the Department of Communications, Mass Media, Public Relations of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of Italy states the following:

1. Rev. Stefan Popa does not belong to the clergy within the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of Italy
2. The Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of Italy has learned regretfully about the facts reported by the above-mentioned TV station, and, foremost, about the possible damage they can have to clerical dignity, both among the faithful and the public in general.
