On 21 March 2011, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel received in an audience His Excellency Mr. Ovidiu Dranga, Romanian Ambassador in the Kingdom of Belgium.
Mr. Ambassador thanked for reception and emphasised the very good cooperation between the Romanian Embassy in Belgium and the Representation of the Romanian Patriarchate at the European institutions seated in Brussels. In this context, the guest informed the Patriarch of Romania of the fact that the Belgian state recognised the second Romanian Orthodox parish in the capital of Belgium operating beside the Representation of the Romanian Patriarchate.
His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel informed Mr. Ambassador about the efforts of the Romanian Patriarchate to ensure the good operation of its Representation at the European institutions. His Beatitude mentioned that one of the priorities of the Romanian Patriarchate is the consolidation and re-arrangement of its seat in Brussels. Mr. Ambassador Ovidiu Dranga assured the Patriarch of Romania of the support of the Romanian Embassy in Brussels in order to find solutions for finishing the works begun.
During the meeting, also mentioned was a possible visit of the Patriarch of Romania to the Romanian Orthodox communities in Brussels next year (2012). In this sense, also pointed out was the importance of the cooperation between the Romanian Embassy and the Representation of the Romanian Patriarchate at the European institutions for initiating and developing some social cultural spiritual projects benefiting the Romanians settled in the capital of Belgium.
