The Romanian Patriarchate Represented at the 8th Conference for Inter-Religious Dialogue at Doha, Qatar
From 19 – 21 October 2010, the 8th Conference for Inter-religious Dialogue is held at Doha, organised by the International Centre for Inter-religious dialogue from Doha, in collaboration with the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Qatar State, as Rev. Sorin Şelaru, Patriarchal Counsellor informs us. This Conference gathers representatives of the Jewish, Christian and Islam faiths.

The representative of the Romanian Patriarchate is, with the blessing of His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, Rev. Sorin Şelaru, Patriarchal Counsellor, Director of the Department for the Representation of the Romanian Patriarchate in Brussels.

The theme debated this year: “Growth of the new generations on a backdrop of values and traditions: religious perspectives” is made up of three large sections: 1) Family as centre of development and support of the new generations, where the issues of the family influence in the development of the new generations will be addressed, as well as the disintegration of the family values, and the growth and education of the children in the spirit of tolerance and acceptance of other fellow beings; 2) The role and responsibility of the educational, social and media institutions in the education of the next generations, which will debate the importance of the curriculum for promoting the religious values, the role of the schools in the development of the young people’s personality and promotion of tolerance, as well as the influence of the media means and of the new technologies in the growth and education of the future generations: 3) The Role of the places of worship for sustaining and educating the future generations.
