Radio Trinitas reporter Aurel Moisiuc conveys more information from Madrid: “The second day of the canonical visit to the Diocese of Spain and Portugal began today, 17 April, with a visit to the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Madrid. Here, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel was met by His Eminence Policarp, Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Spain and Portugal, within the Ecumenical Patriarchate. After celebrating a Te Deum service, the two delegations met and discussed projects of common collaboration for the Orthodox mission they unfold in the Kingdom of Spain”.

On this occasion, the Patriarch of Romania thanked His Eminence Policarp, Greek Orthodox Archbishop of Spain and Portugal for the brotherly reception in the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Madrid and conveyed his thanks and expression of brotherly love to His Holiness, the Ecumenical Patriarch.

In the end, the Patriarch of Romania offered a blessing cross to His Eminence Policarp, as proof of thanksgiving.

Today, the delegation of the Romanian Patriarchate has also visited the Romanian parishes of Saint Great Martyr George of Alcala de Henares, Saint Hierarch Nectarie of Coslada, and Saint Andrew the Apostle of Arganda del Rey, where the local officials were also present.

Till the new Orthodox place of worship is built, the religious services of the parish of Saint Martyr George of Alcala de Henares are celebrated in a chapel granted by the Catholic Diocese of Alcala de Henares. Here, the Primate of the Romanian Orthodox Church was met by hundreds of faithful.
