Appreciation Of The Activity Of The Representation Of The Romanian Patriarchate In Brussels
One of the bodies with a sustained activity for promoting the interests of the Romanian Orthodox people at the level of the European Community is the Representation of the Romanian Orthodox Church at the European Institutions in Brussels. In order to encourage this activity, and appreciate the efforts made so far, today, 9 June 2011, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel awarded the title of iconom stavrofor to Rev. Sorin Şelaru, director of the Representation – informs Trinitas TV. The ceremony took place at the Patriarchal Residence, in the presence of the members of the Standing meeting of the Church National Council.
The Representation of the Romanian Orthodox Church at the European Institutions is a concrete form of the European openness and an answer to the interest in the inter-church and inter-cultural dialogue. The Orthodox Romanians, and not only them, also have the Romanian Centre of Orthodox Spirituality in Brussels of the name of Rev. Dumitru Stăniloae.
