APPEAL TO SOLIDARITY WITH THE VICTIMS OF THE EARTHQUAKE OF JAPAN
The Press Office of the Romanian Patriarchate informs us:
While remembering the urge of Saint Paul the Apostle who says: “Weep with those who weep” (Romans 12:15) as a sign of compassion and solidarity, the Romanian Patriarchate urges the hierarchs, clergy and faithful of the Orthodox parishes and monasteries in the country and Diaspora to organise fund raisings for helping those affected by the earthquake of Japan which caused the death of thousands of human lives and huge material losses.
We kindly ask that the amounts raised be deposited in the following accounts of the Romanian Patriarchate:
RO54RNCB0075004895030091(Lei),
RO27RNCB0075004895030092 (Euro),
RO97RNCB0075004895030093 (USD),
opened at the Romanian Commercial Bank, branch Sector 4, Bucharest, mentioning “Help for Japan”.
The Romanian Patriarchate will consult the Orthodox Metropolitan See seated in Tokyo and provide financial assistance directly to those who suffered because of this natural calamity in Japan, hoping that the generosity of the Romanian Orthodox clergy and faithful will bring a little comfort and assistance for the moral revival and material reconstruction of the communities so hard tried in this Far East country.
