SUFFERANCE CALLS US TO SOLIDARITY
Message of the Patriarch of Romania to the Orthodox Metropolitan of Japan:
Your Eminence,
Beloved Bother in Christ,
It was with much sorrow in our soul that we learned about the earthquake occurred in Japan, which caused the death and disappearance of thousands of people, as well as injury of other tens of thousands of persons, besides the huge material losses.
All this caused much sufferance to the Japanese people, and worried and grieved the entire world.
We are sure that when faced with such situations occurred quite unexpectedly, every human being, no matter the religion, nation, and country, focuses his or her thoughts and feelings of compassion on those in distress and sufferance today in Japan.
We address Your Eminence Daniel, Orthodox Archbishop of Tokyo and Metropolitan of All Japan, on behalf of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, of the Romanian Orthodox clergy and faithful from the country and abroad, a message of compassion and spiritual comfort, also expressing our solidarity with the Japanese people, organising fund raising all over the Romanian Patriarchate.
With brotherly love in Christ and deep appreciation,
† Daniel,
Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church
