Following the attack committed Monday, 24 January 2011, in the afternoon, in the precincts of the Domodedovo International Airport, in Moscow, His Beatitude Daniel, Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, addressed the following message of condolences to His Beatitude Kiril, Patriarchof Moscow and All Russia:
His Beatitude Kiril,
Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia
Your Beatitude,
We learned with great sorrow of the attack committed Monday, 14 January 2011, in the afternoon, in the precincts of the Domodedovo International Airport of Moscow, which killed 35 people and injured many others, over 160.
We convey condolences, on behalf of the hierarchs, clergy and faithful of the Romanian Orthodox Church, to the families of the killed ones, who suffer because of the irresponsible actions of the terrorists, and we hope all the injured ones will be in good health again as soon as possible.
We hope that such actions committed against the lives of some innocent persons will never be repeated, and that the spirit of peace and good understanding among peoples and faithful who witness different religious faiths will overcome, for the welfare of all people.
With distinguished appreciation and love in Christ, our Lord,
† Daniel,
