The Ecumenical Patriarch Arrived Bucharest
His Holiness Bartholomew, Archbishop of Constantinople – New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch arrived tonight in Bucharest at “Henri Coanda” Airport around 16.30 hours, accompanied by His Eminence John of Pergam and by His Eminence Emanuel of France.

His Holiness Bartholomew, Ecumenical Patriarch thanked the Patriarch of Romania for invitation also showing his joy for this visit to the Romanian land. “Thank you, Your Beatitude for the generous invitation you addressed both to me and to the hierarchs who accompany me, to be here and live this joy together today. We shall celebrate great feasts together. I also address a warm salute to the whole Romanian people and especially the Orthodox faithful who all enjoy these special days”, said His Holiness.

The visit of His Holiness began today, 26 October, and will last till 29 October. Meanwhile, the Ecumenical Patriarch will participate tomorrow, 27 October, in the Divine Liturgy on the occasion of the dedication day of the Patriarchal Cathedral as well as in the solemn session of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church held on 28 October in the “Patriarch Tecotist” Aula Magna of the Patriarchal Palace, when he will deliver a speech.
